Joe Cobb began racing at Riverside Stadium, in Riverside, Missouri in 1976 (the track closed in the 1980’s). He has raced on both asphalt and dirt racing surfaces but has an affinity for the dirt tracks that are so closely tied to auto racing’s roots. He has hundreds of victory events at dozens of race tracks on both dirt and asphalt tracks. He was voted “Most Popular Driver” and was the premier Modified division point champion at Adrian Speedway, in Adrian, Missouri, in 1986.

When Jennifer, began racing in 1991, Joe stepped back his racing efforts to get his daughter’s career off of the ground. He became car owner and crew chief for Jennifer until she began her national racing career. Joe led Jennifer to many race wins and instilled a tough work ethic, passing along advice on driving and car setup as the two prepared the cars for each race together, with the help of a dedicated crew.

Joe has resumed racing in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series presented by Dodge at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas on Friday nights, Linn County Speedway in Pleasanton, Kansas on Saturday nights and he runs a limited schedule at the Topeka Raceway on Sunday evenings in Topeka, Kansas. The 58-year old Kansas City, Kansas resident consistently powers his 500+ horsepower Modified into the top ten of the competitive fields.
